It isn't bad at all, it just isn't Buddhism. Funnily, in Japan everyone seems to think that Buddhism is nothing but funeral rites, while no-one would marry in a Buddhist temple for example. Buddhism, being associated with impermanence, would foreshadow the inevitable separation of the couple to be married. Therefore even Buddhist priests sometimes will hire a Catholic priet to perform their wedding cerenmony in some Christian chapel, which promises "joy forever""
